Specsavers Opticas pledge to support Rowing for Cancer
Father and son team Dave and Mitch Bull have set themselves the challenge to kayak from Murcia to Guardamar, a distance of 52 kilometres, to raise 5,000€ for cancer charity AECC and raise awareness for the Samaritans in Spain.
When they learned that a close relative was diagnosed with cancer they decided to fight back and raise funds for Spanish cancer charity AECC. They will be setting off on Saturday 28th November and are looking to the local businesses and community to help them reach their goal and raise as much money as they can.
Many local businesses have come to their aid, including Specsavers Opticas in Torrevieja and Guardamar, who have donated sunglasses with Polarised lenses which will help with the glare from the sun on the river and
sponsored their shorts and polo shirts. There are also collection buckets and sponsorship forms in both stores, so it’s easier for people to get involved and donate.
Other local businesses getting behind this great cause is trainer Bea Cota, Blacktower Financial Management, Coys Cars, MASA International and La Piedra. The day before the kayak challenge, on Friday 27th November, Specsavers Opticas in Torrevieja will be holding a homemade cake sale in the store where customers, residents and tourists can pop in to purchase some delicious treats, with all proceeds going to AECC.
To donate or sponsor Dave and Mitch’s Rowing for Cancer challenge visit Specsavers Opticas in Torrevieja, Avenida Rosa Mazon Valero, Opposite Habaneras Shopping Centre or Guardamar del Segura, Avda. País Valenciano 43-Bajo or download the form and follow their progress by liking their Facebook page “Rowing for Cancer”.
