SONOMA COUNTY, CA. ~ Secret Cat prowls the musi- cal venues of Sonoma County and beyond. The band formed 12 years ago as part of a home-school cur- riculum for the three founding members; Ani Shoop, on lead vocals,

and guitar, Melati Citrawireja on bass, and Emile Rosewa- ter on drums. Guitar- player Charlie Daven- port joined the band more recently as the newest member. Why the mysterious name, Secret Cat? something new for us. We’ve just been fermenting our little
project here in Sonoma County for so long that to have such a self-contained world that has its own life, to bring that out- side and realize that it didn’t
lose any of its power away from home, that we could carry the magic of that show anywhere, was such an uplifting sight and I think that people could see what a world we had created.” Shoop explains the theatrical aspects of Secret Cat’s live per- formances, “Our show is taking the Rock n’ Roll thing beyond its confi nes in that we bring in puppets and mask work and that every night is really its own opera.” Perform- ing artist, Quenby Dolgushkin brings visual elements and joins Secret Cat on stage by sharing mask and puppets that accompany the themes of the songs.
