SKODA RAPID SPACEBACK
Skoda claims its Rapid Spaceback allows drivers to ‘ reflect their style and attitude’ and while at first it might appear to be just a clever marketing phrase, it turns out to be quite accurate. Drivers who put practicality at the top of the list will find the Spaceback not only has the largest luggage capacity in its class, but also the most head and legroom in the rear. And when it comes to looks, this elegantly-designed model makes a strong and distinctive style statement which sets it apart from its main rivals. And attitude? Well, if you want to underline
your ‘green’ credentials, the Spaceback will certainly reflect that as the GreenLine versions have sub-100g/km emissions.

version, priced at £18,180 and powered by a 1.6 litre 105 hp diesel engine. The 0-60 mph time is 10.3 seconds, top speed 118 mph and it returns and impressive 70.6 mpg combined. The Spaceback handles well and the steering
gives accurate feedback. Ride quality is nice on smooth surfaces but rather bumpy on the rougher stuff. But overall it comes over as a safe, assured and easy-to-drive car.
