Postpartum Lymphedema Solution S

Danielle Malpezzi

ome women may retain weight or appear to be swelling everywhere on their bodies after childbirth. This condition

may have less to do with actual fat cells and more to do with lymphatic drainage. Postpartum lymphedema can last for 18 months or longer before women get the diagnosis and treat- ment they needed.

Danielle Malpezzi, PTA, CLT, is now offering Postpartum

Lymphatic drainage therapy at Tannersville Physical Therapy & Wellness in Reeders. “Women may expect to gain weight during their pregnan- cy but they also expect to lose it after the birth of their babies”,

states Malpezzi. “The lymphatic system is responsible for carrying away fats and toxins from our body’s tissues. When this system gets clogged, the fluids accumulate, resulting in lymphedema. I offer a complete decongestive therapy for the treatment of Lymphedema that can help postpartum women lose weight and feel better.”
