Tustin Hi T-Tech team to represent OC at CUE


A team of four students from Tustin High T-Tech Academy was chosen by the Orange County Department


of Education to take part in the Student Technology Showcase at the 2015 California CUE Conference in Palm Springs last month. Their conference presentation was “Real World STEM Project: Locking Skateboard Rack.” The T-Tech students designed a skateboard rack using 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) software and built a proto- type using a 3-D printer. They manufactured the racks in the school’s engineering shop and plan to install them around the campus. The students have also worked on a portable “briefcase” 3-D printer. For these


types of projects, students need a combina- tion of science, technology, engineering and math geometry, electronics and computer programing. Tustin High STEM teacher and engineer-
