Breakers clean and shine By Bishop Evans, OABB reporter

Once again OABB exemplified leadership. On the morning of March 8, the Outdoor Adventures 4-H project did a litter cleanup at Santiago Creek, picking up trash and cigarette butts that would otherwise get washed out to the ocean. It was an effective way to help the ecosystem stay clean. We decided to see how many cigarette butts we could find, and unearthed about 155.

The walk

was long, but worth it because picking up trash and helping na- ture is a very relaxing task. The Outdoor Adventures group found a way to give back to nature by taking away its blemishes. We love our beautiful home. This is where we dwell, so don’t ruin it and please help to keep it clean. If you would like to volunteer with us next time, please contact the OABB Outdoor Adventures

leader, Mr. Davis. His email is on our OABB website.

Presentation day Presentation Day is when 4-H’ers get to show off their pre- sentation skills. It is a competi- tion where the youth prepare a visual demonstration, illustrated talk, interpretive reading, im- promptu speech, or an extempo- raneous speech. OABB’s pre- senters worked hard, practicing for months. The payoff was gold awards earned by Isabella Vegh, Dylan Mongan, Bishop Evans, Karen Jesch, Erin Mongan and Lucy Pauley-Rodriguez. I can- not stress enough how great this Presentation Day was. You could feel fun in the air with a hint of nervousness. This contest was marvelous because children were able to practice something they are bound to use in a successful future.
