In honor of Arbor Day, Red Hill Elementary third grade Brownie Troop 2695 planted two bare-root pome- granate trees in the Red Hill Learning Garden. The girls used profits from their cookie sales to buy the trees. They also weeded and spruced up the garden during the planting event.


TUSD personnel receive recognition

School Administrators (ACSA) honored members of the Tustin Unified School District employ-


ees as Orange County Admin- istrators of the Year. Those re- ceiving awards included Tracey Vander Hayden, named Middle School Principal of the Year; and Troy Fresch, named Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year, both from Pioneer Middle School. ACSA annually recogniz- es outstanding administrators for their leadership skills, profession- alism, creativity, innovation and commitment to quality education.


Cub Scout pack builds racers

850, Villa Park/Orange, built four pushcarts so that its scouts can compete in future council- sponsored races. The project was fully funded by three corporate sponsors: the Home Depot, Villa Ford and Toyota of Orange. The materials were purchased, pre- cut by one of the scout dads and then assembled by the scouts. The troop gathered at Oakridge Private School to build the carts.
