Foothills Sentry OCADA honors athletes in 43 schools


presented El Modena’s Pat Mar- zolino, football and track; and Kelsey Luse, football and wres- tling. Marzolino was All-North Hills League and All-Orange County offensive back and re- ceiver. Luse played an impor- tant support role in football and wrestling while carrying a 4.0 GPA. Foothill High School athletes


Lorien Bandhauer, girls lacrosse, and Ryann Garcia, girls basket- ball, were presented by Athletic Director Vince Namba.


Orange High School athletes


Eileen Prieto and Deon Perinon were presented by Athletic Di- rector Charley Fisher. Prieto, a scholar-athlete for the past three years, played volleyball and bas- ketball, and was captain of both teams. Prieto carries a 4.68 GPA and is the current ASB president. Deon Perinon played varsity football, wrestled, and was wres- tling team captain, is the current Golden West League champion at 195 lbs., and carries a 4.24 GPA.

The 15th Annual Santiago


Canyon College Hawks Golf Tournament will be held on April 24 at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club. The tournament provides funds for student scholarships and other college programs. The tourna- ment begins with a shotgun start in a scramble format, followed by a silent auction at 4:30 p.m. with dinner and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m. The golf package is $250, and includes lunch, green fees, golf cart, driving range, wrangler dinner and award pre- sentation. National Football Foundation, Orange County Chapter honors five local athletes with scholarships

36 Orange County high schools were honored by the Orange County Chapter of the National Football Foundation at the 45th Annual Na- tional Football Foundation and Col- lege Hall of Fame dinner at the Ana-


heim Convention Center. To be considered, the athlete must


have a 3.3 GPA or better, a 3.3 on the collegiate level and be a first team player All-League selection. The student must have received out- standing recognition in his league by


sportswriters and coaches. Scholar- ship recipients included Kyle Har- lin and teammate Xavier Hernandez from Villa Park High School. Harlin was All-Crestview League and All- CIF. Hernandez was All-Crestview League and All-Orange County, a


three-year starter and team captain. Marcus Trujillo from Chapman College was a kicker on the Chap- man football team, racking up 142 points from 2011 to 2014, with a season high of 70 in 2014. Joshua Pickell from Orange Lutheran High


was a running back who averaged 9.1 yards per game, 15 receiving yards per game, and scored nine touchdowns. Pickell was All-Trinity League and team co-captain. Pick- ell holds a 4.0 GPA and signed with Cornell University.
