• Croft Associates, specialists in the packaging and transportation of radioactive materials, has announced that Mark Janicki (pictured) and Alex Ferguson have been appointed to the board as business development director and licensing director respectively. Janicki rejoined Croft in 2006. He is responsible for commercial activities as well as the development of solutions for the safe management of radioactive wastes to meet UK on-site safety case, transport and disposal criteria. In this role he has led the work on concrete and ductile cast iron containers. He has worked for 37 years in the nuclear industry. He is a nuclear physics post graduate and has a strong technical background gained through his work in safety case production, management and peer review for nuclear plant and processes, and his work into storage, transport and disposability of radioactive


materials and wastes. Ferguson joined Croft in 1989 and is primarily responsible for licensing packages for the transportation of radioactive materials. He has worked in the nuclear industry for 36 years, and has experience in the design of active and remote handling facilities, together with the preparation and review of transport safety applications and liaising with regulatory authorities to obtain transport approval licences.


• Law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys has welcomed Minnaar Badenhorst as a senior associate solicitor within the firm's Thames Valley wills, trusts and probate department. Badenhorst, who originally hails from South Africa, has been a lawyer for all his working life, and practised in Reading for several years prior to moving to Harrison Clark Rickerbys. His appointment has hugely increased the department's capability at a senior level. He has particular experience of advising older and vulnerable clients, assisting them with financial management and health and welfare concerns. He also specialises


in probate, the preparation of wills, powers of attorneys and trusts, and is a member of the Thames Valley branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as well as the Law Society’s private client section.


• Reality HR has recently made two new appointments: Donna Bonfield to the position of HR consultant and Jessica Bellingham to the role of marketing assistant, bringing the total number of employees at the consultancy to 17. Bonfield brings more than 20 years’ experience to the agency, gained primarily within the HR function of large corporates in the financial services sector. Her role at Reality HR includes acting as HR manager for a number of clients, working with them to understand their business plans and helping them build the strategic people plans to support them. Bellingham joins Reality HR in a move to boost the marketing capability of the company. Her role incorporates all aspects of social media, advertising, e-shots and promotional literature, as well as providing support to the HR consultants where required.
