• Peter Laurie has been appointed as the new head of client relations at Elcot Publications. Laurie will strengthen links with key clients; develop new areas of business; and work with sponsors on The Business Magazine‘s lists and awards campaigns. A former business founder and owner, Laurie has worked in-house at a top City firm, and latterly has run his own consultancy practice. He has extensive knowledge of the professionals market, and has worked in both IT and finance in the SME sector. • EY has appointed Sarah Lavan as a tax partner in the human capital practice in Reading, as the professional services firm continues to expand its tax team in the region. • Leading law firm Moore Blatch has appointed John Warchus as a partner to head up the commercial team in West London. Warchus has particular expertise in commercial and technology law and his hire is part of Moore Blatch’s increased focus on the London legal market. Warchus will be based in the West London office in Richmond, but will also work out of the City office. He joins Moore Blatch from Reading- based Clarkslegal LLP where he was a partner specialising in all areas of IT, intellectual property and commercial law. He has over 25 years’ experience in the technology sector and has advised clients ranging from tech start-ups to multinationals and public sector organisations.


• FISCAL Technologies, the world-leading provider of accounts payable forensic software, has appointed Steve Sutton as software development manager. Sutton will be responsible for the operational management of software development, quality assurance, strategic technical projects and research designed to help companies protect organisational spend. He will specifically be working on the delivery of AP Forensics Version 7.0.
