successful sire for 17 years. He has many registered sport- horse offspring (151 registered with the American Hanove- rian Society) and was especially sought after as a superior selection for crossing with Thoroughbred mares, adding his strength of conformation, quality gaits and generous temperament. His offspring are well known for their versa- tility, excelling in dressage, jumping, eventing and driving. At age 32, Donnerkeil was humanely euthanized sur-
rounded by many of his friends. Barbara states, “You touched all of us with your character, athleticism and willingness to please. You clearly stamped all of your offspring in such a way that your spirit will never be forgotten. You will be missed.”
Escudo II (1992 – 2014) Escudo II (Espri x SPS Athene/Arkansas) was a 1992 black Ha- noverian stallion standing at Rainbow Equus Meadows since 2006. He was a poster child for the Hanoverian Celle State Stud since he could per- form tricks at liberty, mas- tered dressage and jump- ing with ease, and had a wonderful character and conformation earning him the title of 1994 Hanove- rian Licensing Champion. Amongst all Hanoverian jumper stallions worldwide, he en- joyed the highest “riding horse type” breed value for eight consecutive years. While in North America he sired hundreds of offspring, with over 50 during 2014 alone. In his lifetime he produced ten licensed sons and several show jumpers up to Grand Prix level, 13 SPS mares and 47 offspring selected for German Hanoverian auctions.
Fabuleux (1997-2014) It was with great sadness and heavy hearts that Bridlewood Farm announced the passing of Elite Hanoverian stallion Fab- uleux. He was humanely euthanized due to complications following colic surgery. Fabuleux was the son of the renowned Fabriano and the immensely successful broodmare SPS Auguste. He was a Class I stallion who successfully completed his 100-Day Test in Adelheidsdorf, where his exceptional scores in- cluded walk 9, trot 9, can- ter 10, temperament 9, rideability 9, willingness to work 9. He received the outstanding dressage score of 130.45 points. Following his licensing in Verden, Fabuleux was purchased by a leading international dressage stable, Gestüt Hoeftehof, where he competed successfully with rider Holga Finken as a three-year-old in large open German riding horse

competitions. He was champion of the Gottingen Riding Horse Championships with a score of 8.7. At the prestigious Norten-Hardenberg show he was awarded the title Reserve Champion 3-Year-Old. After Bridlewood Farm purchased Fabuleux, he produced
208 AHS registered foals. Of his daughters, 32 are in the main studbook, including three Elite mares and five Elite mare can- didates as well as numerous successful offspring registered with the German Oldenburg Verband (GOV/OHBS) and the ISR/OLD NA, earning his third star award in 2006 after siring over ten Premium foals in his very first foal crop. Fabuleux has consistently passed on his beautifully correct conformation, fabulous walk, huge canter and eye-catching good looks as well as his incredibly willing and easy, uncomplicated de- meanor to his many successful offspring in all sport horse disciplines. It is through their achievements that Fabuleux’s legacy will continue.
Indian Artifacts (1995 – 2014) DeGraff Stables (OH) wishes to take the opportunity to pay tribute to a true friend, their great stallion Indian Artifacts, a Thoroughbred cross. At the time of his death he was the only stallion who was an AQHA World Champion and an AWR (American Warmblood Registry) Inspection Champion. Addition- ally, each of his foals submitted for AWR inspection outscored their dam. After an exemplary show ca- reer, with over 500 foals, he sired World or Reserve World or Na- tional champions in AQHA, APHA, PtHA, Appaloosa, AWR, USEF and USDF. Although he is missed daily, his owners are pleased to have retained many of his daugh- ters and two of his sons for breeding their next generation of champions.
Malachi (1989 – 2013) The last year at Loon Creek En- terprises included a most diffi- cult farewell to their approved Trakehner and Canadian Sport Horse stallion Malachi (by Advo- cate *Ps*, out of Mallorka by Gun- nar). Malachi was foaled at Loon Creek on a warm, sunny May 10, 1989 and died on December 29, 2013 due to infirmities of old age. During his career he won top rib- bons in High Preliminary jump- ers, Preliminary eventing, upper level dressage and A-circuit hunters, but most of all he was a joy to be around and very reliably passed on his wonderful temperament to his off- spring. He left them with a number of daughters who will carry on his legacy. He will be missed.
