ALUMNAE/I ON CAMPUS I love having the opportunity to meet alumnae/i.
Whether I’m at a
local event or having coffee one-on-one, it’s a delight to be regaled with stories from the school’s diverse alumnae/i. Sometimes alumnae/i make it particularly easy for me by coming to campus! Sharon Colgan Buquo ’67 and her husband trekked from Jacksonville, Florida, in their RV to visit campus in late August. Sharon and Gary (who will celebrate their 40th anniversary in January) have “6.5 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren” and are currently retired. Sharon has not been in contact with many of her classmates and is interested in re-connecting with them: You can reach her at
bgmom1@yahoo.com. Kyle Witcosky ’07, Emma Newman ’09, Colin MacLean ’08, and Sheng Ng ’07 were on campus for Opening Day to talk to juniors about
college and their own unique experiences. Similarly, Christian DiBenedetto ’92 served on a panel where he spoke to Upper School students about careers and life paths.
Denny Crafton ’67 flew in from
Vermont for a West Coast Harley Davidson event, and he visited campus while he was in the area. While touring the campus, Denny and I swung by the Development Office (Morris House) and discovered that the office now occupied by Director of Development Randa Cleaves was Denny’s senior year dorm room!
Ivana Horvat ’06 returned to campus
this fall and has been working with the Marketing and Communications Department. Virginia Euwer Wolff ’55 came to campus for the OES Book Fair, where she was a featured author. And of course, over 30 alumnae/i and guests joined us for Reunion Weekend 2010 on October 1 and 2 for a weekend of fun and memories with friends old and new.
I want to hear your story, too!
If you’re in town, swing by campus or contact me and I’ll meet you for lunch. If you’re not in town, email
alumni@oes.edu with a Class Note. Keep an eye out for our regional events as well!
