New Trustees Bring Skills in Law, Marketing, and Finance
KATE B. LIEBER is an attorney and teaches criminal law courses at Portland Community College. She was a deputy district attorney for 12 years in the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office and was appointed by the governor to serve as chair of the Psychiatric Security Review Board. She also has served as president of KJM&N, a restaurant franchising company. She earned a BA in economics and psychology from Smith College and was awarded a JD degree, magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law. She and her partner, Monique Matheson, have children in Primary and Third Grade. Kate’s volunteer work at OES includes serving on the search committee for the interim head of school in 2009 and chairing teacher appreciation events for two years. Her hobbies include running and woodworking.
MALCOLM MCIVER ’82 is president of Commerce Properties, a family-owned real estate investment company. He also has worked for Temple, Barker & Sloane Management Consulting in Boston and for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Tokyo. He has served as board chair for The Salvation Army in Portland. A graduate of Lincoln High School, he majored in marketing at Dartmouth College and received an MBA in marketing from UCLA. He and his spouse, Rico, have children in the Fourth and Sixth Grades. Malcolm has been an assistant basketball coach for the OES second- and third-grade girls’ teams. His hobbies include yoga, waterfowling, history, and spending time at the family cabin.
EVAN ROBERTS ’88 is co-owner of Crowley Wines LLC, working in every facet of the business from the vineyard to marketing. Previously, he worked as assistant to the winemaker at JK Carriere, and he was CEO of a recording studio and an anima- tion studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has been a member of the executive board and finance committee for the Portland Opera, member of the advisory council for the Cornerstone Society of Oregon Public Broadcasting, and co-president of the Multnomah Cooperative Playschool. Evan has a BA in advertising from Marquette University. He and his spouse, Rebecca, have children in the Third, Fifth, and Seventh Grades. His hobbies are scuba diving, master’s swimming, Alfa Romeo classic car events, cooking, and all things wine.
PAT TRUNZO has over 15 years of corporate finance experience in the banking industry with Washington Mutual, American Savings Bank, and First Interstate Bank. She is a board member for New Avenues for Youth, delivers meals for Loaves and Fishes, and is a member of the Parish Vestry Committee that serves as the governing board for St. John the Baptist Parish. She holds a BS in business administration and finance from California State University at Long Beach. Pat and her spouse, Tony, have children in Kindergarten and Second Grade, and her volunteer activities at OES include serving on the Auction Committee. An outdoorswoman, she enjoys skiing, hiking, and horse riding.
