The first phase of the new Mailbox app, which is now available to download, allows customers to book a table at selected restaurants from the palm of their hand. With exciting longer term plans to develop the app to include benefits, payment parking options, real-time promotions tailored to each individual visitor and more, it will become the ultimate guide to all things Mailbox.


The bigger, better and brighter Mailbox, to be unveiled in a few months, will also include a stunning new sky-lit glass roof. Designed to keep out the unpredictable weather and dramatically increase the sense of space, the roof creates a light and airy environment that provides the perfect backdrop for luxury shopping. A brand new ‘Urban Room’ will become the hub of the new Mailbox, providing a welcome oasis for shoppers to relax and unwind, dine or catch up with friends.


For visitors looking to wine and dine at the Mailbox, the already popular mix of bars and restaurants will welcome Gas Street Social this Spring. Inspired by the industrial and cultural context of Birmingham’s rich history, the urban neighbourhood kitchen will serve up a seasonal taste of European sharing dishes, alongside regional and international craft beers, fine wines and signature cocktails.


A premium cinema experience will also be revealed at the new Mailbox, as Everyman Cinema brings its signature approach to film to the Midlands for the first time. Renowned for its exclusive range of carefully selected mainstream, art house and classic films, as well as luxurious sofa seating and a choice of


food, fine wines and champagnes, the three-screen venue will be a must visit for fans of the silver screen when it opens towards the end of February.


Shoppers will be lured to the new development by the exciting mix of luxury retailers, including the brand new signature Harvey Nichols store. Located in the heart of the new Mailbox, the flagship store will more than double in size to offer a host of exciting new brands to strengthen its existing range. With an innovative new layout and the very latest in retail technology, it promises to deliver an enhanced customer experience.


Alongside Harvey Nichols, a unique range of top-name brands will make the new Mailbox a prime destination for luxury shopping and lifestyle. Hugo Boss will open with a freshly designed store, joining Emporio Armani, L.K. Bennett, Jaeger and Gieves and Hawkes, with other high-end retailers set to be announced throughout the year.


But don’t stay away until then: Harvey Nichols, Emporio Armani, Nicky Clarke, Toni & Guy and BBC Birmingham remain open throughout, along with the bars, restaurants, hotels, commercial offices and car park.
