Heart Breakfast with Ed James
The Emerald Isle has provided us with some great bands over the years, from U2 to Westlife and Boyzone to B*witched! Ok, that last one might be pushing it a little but I’m proud to say I was a big fan of C’est la Vie.
Google them if you’ve never heard any of their work, you’re in for a treat! Anyway, I digress. The biggest band to come out of Ireland over the last few years is The Script and they’re heading to the Genting Arena at the end of February.
Although it feels like they’ve only been around for five minutes, The Script are already on to their fourth album, called No Sound Without Silence, which went straight to number one in the UK iTunes chart. The album also went into the top ten in 42 other countries. Their song Superheroes, is still a favourite on Heart Breakfast and was one of the most popular songs of 2014.
The Script love playing live and last year they built a recording studio on their tour bus to record any ideas and songs they came up with!
So what can we expect from the tour this year?
A spokesman for the group said, "No Sound Without Silence is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders and channeling the momentum of their last, rocket-powered campaign.” What we’ll see on stage in February will be some of the best anthems from the last few years played by a band who simply love playing live. It’s a real thrill to watch a band having as much fun as the audience. You can’t help but get swept along with the euphoria of it all. The support act is the talented Labrinth, so all in all, this is the must see gig in the Midlands this February. Unless B*witched announce a comeback tour that is!
For your chance to win tickets to some amazing concerts in Birmingham this year, tune in to Heart Breakfast with Ed and Rachel, weekdays from 6–10am on Heart West Midlands (100.7 FM, DAB digital radio, at
heart.co.uk and on the Heart app).
