The interest in young people seeking education to preach the Gospel is exploding in Sri Lanka. They are preparing to reach their generation with the Good News.


Our church and Bible institute are both located in the heart of Colombo — Sri Lanka’s capital. For many years our Bible institute has rented facilities. The leaders at the Bible institute have decided the best way to proceed with the growing demand for training is to add classrooms and office space on our church property. There is a building on the church property where the first floor is currently used for fellowship and Sunday school. We want to add a second floor to this facility to house the Bible institute. This will save the rental expense of $600 per month ($7,200 per year).


The good news is several thousand dollars has already been raised for building construction. We are believing in faith that God will supply the remaining amount to complete the additional space. Construction began in January of this year and will continue as funding allows.


We have a variety of students who attend our Bible institute. Some students travel and sacrifice a great deal to attend. Here are a few of their stories:


— One pastor travels about six hours by motorcycle and by bus each way. He has been a pastor for several years and is excited to be graduating. This program was ideal for him to at- tend while he continued to care for his family and church.
