FELLOW AIR COMMANDOS, As I reflected on my AF


career this Veterans Day, the mission I remember most was


not one with medals recogniz- ing combat or airmanship in Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan but a mis- sion with no medals for com- bat or airmanship recognition. The Iranian Hostage Rescue Mission and my short time in Special Operations are the highlights of my career. I am thankful to have been an Air Commando.

Robert Eugene Seals, USAF (Ret) who spent the lion’s share of the 60’s serving under Brig Gen Aderholt with the 1045th TO&EG, and he is near death. After sustaining a cata- strophic stroke in February, he has been in long-term care and was admitted to Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL, where he is suffering from se- rious anemia, low blood pres- sure, among other things. His prognosis is not good. He may take leave of us before morn- ing.

The winner of the 2014 ACA CMSgt Roland “Hap” Lutz Air Commando Medic of the Year Award is TSgt James C. Scrivener from the 1st SOSS/ OSM Hurlburt Field, FL. TSgt Scrivener could not be present at the banquet in October to accept the award, his lovely wife Robin Scrivener was there on his behalf to accept the award presented by Lt Gen Bradley Heithold, Commander AFSOC.
