Occupation Licences: Registration taxes relevant to your local town hall
Currently the submission (registration receipt) of having applied for an Occupation Licence (not the licence itself), is required to sign for a property sale at any Notary within Alicante. The document, also called Habitation Licence or Habitation Cedule, is achieved by submitting a dossier with the compilation of the title deeds, water and electricity bills,
annual town hall tax, and NIE, one or more certificates by an architect and sometimes complete plans of the property. Requirements and the amount of registration tax necessary for the certificate varies greatly between the different municipalities. Here is a list of the most common registration taxes in the area:
-Orihuela: From 102€ - 111€ (depending on build size) -San Miguel de Salinas: 100€ -Daya Nueva: 50€ -Rojales: 50€ -Torrevieja: 17.50€
Registration tax is paid to the town hall before having the licence issued. Note that registration taxes are not applicable to IVA.
