Along with the 7 members of staff there are over 70 volunteers who dog walk, fundraise or work in one of the 8 shops, which is so important to help keep the kennels running, otherwise they couldn’t continue their superb work. Every donated item is either sold or re-cycled to raise money.

S.A.T. is running a ´Buy a Brick´ campaign to raise money for new kennels. After 4 years, all the licences have been passed and approved so all they need now is the money! You can fi nd more information or ‘Buy a Brick’ on the website www.satanimalrescue.com.

During my visit, one lucky dog happily left with her new owner, but sadly two arrived, one being a beautiful little girl found in San Miguel, so my next ´job ´was to sit and cuddle her and give her a name. That beautiful girl is now called Pati. Unfortunately Pati isn’t microchipped which makes it diffi cult to fi nd her owner.

The morning passed far too quickly and before I knew it the routines were about to start all over again. If I’d had a bigger bag I would have smuggled Decker and Pati out, although my own 2 dogs might not have approved!

S.A.T have taken in over 7500 dogs since 1999.

Although the song wasn’t actually about puppies, I found myself humming Donny Osmond’s Puppy Love as I left!!
