CARNEGIE, GORDON HIGHLANDERS brought back from Tours in South Africa and India in the late 19th century, to include; a leather telescope case inscribed HON. R. F. CARNEGIE, GORDON HIGHLANDERS, South Africa 1896-97, India 1898-99, South Africa 1899- Dec.1901 (siege of Ladysmith), 29cm long, leather gun sleeve inscribed ‘R.F.Carnegie, Gordon Highlanders 450 Express Rifles’, 83cm long, a leather instrument case inscribed ‘Capt:Hon:RFCarnegie. xcii Gordon Highlanders, from SS. May 6th 1899’ and bearing initials RFC, a leather ammunition belt, leather pipe case inscribed RFC April 1888, a powder horn bearing initials RFC, 36cm long, assorted brass buttons, two lead and copper wax seals, two tinder sticks, rifle mechanism, two stone specimens, London Stero. & Photo Co., box, luggage label, and two horn trophies one inscribed on the skull ‘1913 Erchless Forrest shot by RFC, Sept 27’. 629. A late 19th century African Tribal hardwood Knobkerrie club, with facet carved head, 76.5cm long.

A late 19th century African Tribal short handled axe, the crescent shaped metal blade set into a dark wood surmount with double carved line detail, to a lighter coloured wooden handle, 68.5cm long.
