o Winter

with most slopes covered by artificial snow cannon – in over 10 years there has always been some skiing and riding to suit nearly all tastes. Check out www.saalbach.com.

Still need to know more? What about eligibility and cost? The Championships are open to all MOD personnel, reserves, cadets, dependants and those personnel in related organizations, such as industry. All we ask is that you are fit to participate (if you are military then you need to have passed your Service fitness test) and that you sign up for the provided subsidized lessons and/or at least one race (although no such compulsion exists for families!). Costs start at about €500 for self catered accommodation for one week – this incudes accommodation, ski pass and event insurance. You can book extras like ski hire, airport transfers and subsidized lessons at extra cost. You will need to pay

for flights but the Service person can claim some of this back. It is worth knowing that the Championships are a recognised RAF sports event (within the meaning of JSP 765) and participation in formally organised tuition and racing is regarded as duty.

All prices are highly competitive for the full package offered and some additional subsidies can be gained by Service personnel for rations and RAF Sports Lottery membership. Full details can be obtained from the Airspace Webpage or by contacting the Admin Team via our internet site at http://www.raf.mod.uk/ rafwsaa/. We also have a facebook site (look up RAFWSAA and ask to join).

It is never too late to give-in to new temptation – you might look back in 20 years and realise that you too are totally addicted.
