industry, with members joining from all over the UK. Members include specialist concrete frame contractors, in addition to suppliers and consultants. On average Construct members purchase
around
30% of all ready-mixed concrete pro- duced in the UK. At present Construct members deliver the vast majority of the industry’s £1 billion yearly spend. Construct takes health and safety very
seriously and the well-being of the as- sociation’s workforce is a number one priority. Construct strives for incident-free working environments and works with all members, designers and clients to achieve this. Construct’s health and safety commit-
tee meet regularly in order to share and discuss best practice solutions when it comes to safety in the work place. In ad- dition, Construct invites external organi- sations and construction stakeholders to share their views and experience. To keep up with the latest developments
within the industry, the association holds the Construct Awards, which reward and highlight members who are continuing to shine within the concrete industry. Winners of the Construct Awards 2014
included Freyssinet (UK) Ltd for their work on the Hammersmith Flyover; David Ball Group Plc for their product Cemfree; and Lee Marshall picked up the Apprentice Award for 2014. AJ Morrisroe and Hilti (GB) were joint
winners of the Health & Safety Award, whilst Miers Construction Products Ltd and Temporary Floor Protection Ltd were both highly commended for their materi- als and products. A spokesperson for Construct, said: “Construct exists for the benefit of
