Some of the children’s most memorable learning experiences occur outside the classroom. Here is a flavour of just some of the activities we plan for children at Globe.

Forest School With our own designated ‘woodland’ in a local park -less than a 5-minute walk from the school - nationally accredited trainers offer our youngest pupils regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment. Sessions are planned by adults but driven by children. Wearing protective clothing, children can get as soggy and muddy as they want whilst developing a range of skills.

Educational Visits We provide opportunities for children to visit museums, galleries, theatres, parks, places of worship and historical landmarks. Not only is the local area within walking distance of Globe, full of interesting places to visit, we also take full advantage of the wealth of museums and historic buildings in London, and the extensive transport network- whatever the weather. We expect that all children will participate in all educational visits.

Specialist Visitors and Projects Artists, musicians, sports coaches and theatre groups frequently visit Globe to work with children, providing specialist support in developing new skills. We also have regular lunchtime visits from business partners who provide individual support to children with reading and number facts. As well as developing a broader range of skills, all of these visitors introduce children to possibilities of future careers and the world beyond our school.

After - school and Saturday clubs A 10 week programme of after- school activities runs each term for children of all ages, each term. The number and types of activities vary depending on children’s ages but include: sports, arts and crafts, cookery, gardening, reading, computing, music and choir. There are also ‘booster’ clubs to support pupils’ Maths and English development.

Each Saturday morning in term time, there is an additional programme of activities run by parents and the Friends of Globe group. This programme includes: arts and crafts, martial arts and table tennis.

Information about this is constantly updated. Please enquire at the school office or browse the school website to find out more.
