ment at Larkfield, working two ses- sions aweek. He said: “I owe my health and successful recovery to fitness and hope to sharemypassions with oth- ers in need. I’m enjoying the place- ment immensely. Being able to help people and seeing that my instruc- tions are actually making a differ- ence to them is a great feeling.” Larkfield Leisure Centre fitness manager James Davis said: “With inactivity so prevalent in today’s so- ciety and the harmful physical ef- fects so well documented, we hope that Sean acts as an inspiration to both disabled and able-bodied peo- ple alike to become fitter, healthier and more active.”


New leader at school


NICOLA Craig has been ap- pointed to take over the running of trouble-hit St Peter’s C of E Primary School in Aylesford. The appointment follows many changes since the dismissal in 2013 of long-term head Simon Temple. Two acting heads were subsequently appointed. A statement from the county


council’s director of education planning and access, Kevin Shov- elton, confirmed Mr Temple would not be returning. He said: “Mr Temple will not be returning to St Peter's Primary School. The governing body has appointed a new substantive headteacher, Mrs Craig. “The school has moved forward


under the leadership of the outgo- ing interim headteacher Joyce Rhodes and we are confident it will continue to make good progress." Mr Temple is being backed by


his union in takingKCCto an em- ployment tribunal about his sus- pension and subsequent dismissal.


Craft stall to boost breast cancer fund


VOLUNTEERS fromBreast Cancer Kent will be running amonthly craft stall at Sainsbury’s in QuarryWood, Aylesford, as the store’s charity partner for this year. The stall will be in the foyer on the


next to last Friday and Saturday of each month and helpers and staff will also be joining in other fundraising fun. The charity raises money towards equipment for the detection and treatment of breast cancer at Maidstone and TunbridgeWells hospitals and is also involved with wellbeing programmes for after-care.
