• Sarah Lawrence of Goringe Accountants has been promoted to technical


director, taking on a senior management role in the team. Lawrence joined the Theale- based accountancy practice in January 2013, and is a top-level specialist in financial analysis and investigation, with diverse sector experience of technology, fund management and horse studs. She will maintain an overview of the client management departments, offering advice and adding technical accounting input where necessary.


• Oxford accountancy firm Shaw Gibbs has added to its team’s professional credentials with the appointment of two highly-experienced practitioners. Tim Davison (left) joins the financial services team as chartered financial planner, bringing 27 years of experience, and Adrian Stevens (right), with more than two decades in taxation, joins as personal tax consultant. Bringing a wealth of experience in financial planning, problem solving and business development, Davison joins Shaw Gibbs from Fortitude Financial Planning. A fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians, Stevens will be handling tax affairs for individuals and owner- managed businesses. He will use his experience to provide advisory and compliance services within the Shaw Gibbs personal tax team. A qualified taxation specialist since 1993, he joins Shaw Gibbs from Brooks Mayfield in Nottingham.


• The Oxford office of Penningtons Manches LLP has added three new property specialists to its The Legal 500 top-tier real estate team: Amy Irvine (right), who joins from DLA Piper; Becky Marsden (centre), who was previously working full time in the firm’s Guildford office; and Lauren Bray (left), commercial property paralegal. The 11-strong Oxford real estate team now comprises three partners and eight fee earners who advise on all aspects of commercial property, landlord and tenant work, residential, social housing and dispute resolution law for the full spectrum of commercial and residential real-estate transactions.


• Gardner Leader has added to its 90-strong team by welcoming a new solicitor to its family division. Nicola Brocklehurst, who will be based in the Newbury office, specialises in divorce and relationship breakdown as well as financial divorce settlements and matters relating to children post-separation.
