steps Fruit Yoghurt
Many commercial fruit yoghurts have lots of added sugar, so the best way is to make your own and it’s easy!
Ingredients: (Makes 2 adult portions) ½ to 1
½ to 1 chopped banana
150g / 5oz natural yoghurt 2 tsp
maple syrup
You can use other fruit, but we chose banana & peaches as they go well together & have no pips!
Method: Simply mix all the ingredients together and serve.
Mash the fruit first or blitz all the ingredients with a hand blender for younger babies. For a alternative, why not top with a healthy Granola.
French Toast
Use biscuit cutters to make fun French Toast for your little one. They could even help you!
Ingredients: (Makes 2 portions) 1 2
egg tbsp milk
Pinch 2
cinnamon (optional) slices of white, 50/50 or raisin bread
25g/1oz butter Method:
Beat the egg with the milk and cinnamon and pour into a shallow dish. Cut the bread into shapes then dip the bread into the mixture coating both sides. Melt the butter and fry the shapes on both sides until golden. Eat warm, straight from the pan. Why not serve with some fresh fruit drizzled with honey or spread with jam.
Method: Preheat the grill to medium.
Cook the pasta according to packet instructions. Drain and return to the pan.
Meanwhile, spread the breadcrumbs on a baking tray and grill for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway, until toasted.
Tip into a bowl and cool slightly then mix with the lemon zest, garlic and parsley. Season and set aside.
Stir the spinach and crème fraiche into the hot pasta until the spinach has wilted. Depending on how tender the spinach is, you may want to cook it a little first and then mix with the crème fraiche and pasta.
Then, stir in half the breadcrumbs, season to taste and divide between bowls. Sprinkle with the remaining breadcrumbs to serve.
