ookstart is a national book gifting programme which aims to give every child a lifelong love of books and reading. It encourages parents to share books with their children from an early age and helps promote the benefits of libraries to families. Bookstart packs are free to children under the age of five and all children are eligible for two packs.
Bookstart Baby pack –
given out by your health visitor at the first developmental health check (7-9 months).
Bookstart Treasure bag –
given to your 4-5 year old child by their nursery class in school. If your child is going straight into Reception Year at school, please contact the Bookstart team to arrange to get a bag.
Booktouch and Bookshine packs are also available for visually or hearing impaired children. Favourite Fairy Tales
