Are you making the most of your Children’s Centre? There are 14 Sure Start Children’s Centres across the borough offering advice, support and information on all aspects of parenting to help you give your child the best possible start in life.
Who can use Children's Centres?
Any adult caring for a young child, including children with additional needs or disabilities, can register and access services at any of Solihull’s Children's Centres. Mums, dads, grandparents, foster carers, childminders and parents-to-be are all welcome.
What can you do at our Centres?
Our Children's Centres bring together a wide range of family-friendly services: • support and advice during pregnancy, after your child is born and as your child grows • training for parents, for example parenting classes, basic skills • activities including stay and plays, baby massage and story times • information and advice on health, for example baby clinics, childcare and family support services • coffee areas where you and your child can play together and relax • for families who have a child with an additional need or disability, some centres run weekly drop-ins and two centres also have a sensory room available. Please note that activities and services may vary from centre to centre.

Holidays, Leisure and Respite for Children and their families fighting life threatening illness and severe disabilities...
Registered Number 1045148
Dream Makers have sent them on dream holidays, to Disney World, Disney Land, Lapland and swim with the dolphins. They have helped with therapy treatments, bought wheelchairs and other equipment etc., given major support with educational needs and provided entertainers for out patients departments in hospitals and clinics, keeping children occupied while waiting for their treatment.
For the children who are unable to travel long distances because of the severity of their illness, Dream Makers have 3 eight berth mobile holiday homes in Torbay, Devon. These are fully equipped for all the needs of the children, with an on site indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a children’s club which occupies them throughout the day and family entertainment for the evenings. It is located in beautiful Devon countryside and for those children who are able, has many interesting walks and safe clean beaches near by.
