PROTECTIVE CLOTHING THE IMPORTANCE OF PPE IN ALL WORKPLACES

We already use PPE all the time. Donning washing-up gloves or gardening boots is second nature to us. In industry and business, the hierarchy of risk assessment requires us to minimise risk in the workplace. Once we’ve examined what we do and decided that we can’t give up or substitute potentially-risky tasks and operations, when we’ve reduced exposure levels as far as we can, the final line of defence is often the sourcing and issue of personal protective equipment (PPE).

ADDITIONAL LEVEL OF PROTECTION PPE can be used as an additional level of protection to supplement other risk- minimisation initiatives, but sometimes is the only feasible form of protection. Few health and safety professionals would argue against using other precautions, aimed at preventing hazards or reducing risks at source, as first choice. However, most would readily admit that such measures will rarely completely remove a risk and that PPE will continue to have a role to play in occupational safety and health.

MORE PREVALENT

PPE use is becoming ever more prevalent, for very good reason, as hostile environments and dangerous situations have become the norm as the commercial world develops into new and potentially- hazardous areas, geographically and operationally.

CONTRACTOR HI-VISIBILITY WORK WEAR AND CORPORATE CLOTHING BESPOKE REQUIREMENTS

As the name suggests, (We Print) prints T-shirts, along with a wide range of other garments such as poloshirts, sweatshirts and hoodies etc. We also however, print onto a wide range of hi-visibility work wear and corporate clothing.

WORKING ON SITE

Hi-visibility jackets and waistcoats are a must for contractors or anyone else working on site, so we offer a quality bespoke print service whereby company names and logos can be applied to them. Apart from ensuring a company workforce can be easily identified on site, having your company name or logo printed onto hi- visibility garments is also a highly visible and economically viable form of advertising.

Most companies tend to opt for a simple 'straight to the point' single colour print consisting of their name and possibly a contact phone number, but the company can print multi-colour logos where required onto most garments.

The company also offers a full range of garments, from the simple hi-vis mesh safety waistcoat right up to hi-vis bomber jackets and motorway jackets, so that staff and contractors can work comfortably and safely in most weather conditions.

WIDE CUSTOMER BASE Our customers range from the self- employed electrical or plumbing contractor, to SME's and construction companies,

to large events companies and event marshals and stewards.

Based in Hull, a city on the brink of an exciting, booming renewables revolution, and with all of its associated support services, there is a potentially huge market to be tapped.

PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY SERVICE The company have built up a reputation for a very professional and friendly service when it comes to t-shirts and they are now carrying that over into the workwear market, with a steadily growing list of satisfied customers.

We Print

Preventive health and safety legislation has also played its part, for good reasons. Count the number of workers, in what once might have been considered everyday low-risk occupations, now wearing hi-visibility clothing!

RECOGNISING THE NEED

Employers recognise the need to provide PPE to protect staff and PPE has had to be ever-evolving to keep up with the relentless increasing sophistication, diversity, availability and use of potentially-harmful chemicals, substances, plant and machinery. If wrong or inadequate PPE choices are made, this can actually increase risk. Ultimately this can be fatal.
