100 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE SERVING THE WIND INDUSTRY

DAN Shipping & Chartering has been providing ship agency services to the industry since 1987. With more than 100 years’ combined experience the company continues to handle a wide range of cargo from grain and rice, to coal and biomass on behalf of some of the region’s largest power stations.

A CHANGING WORLD

The changing nature of the energy industry has shaped the differing types of cargo that DAN has handled and ensured the company stays abreast of the latest developments within the energy sector.

WIND ENERGY SECTOR

None more so than the development of wind energy. With its head office in Hull and handling many imports of bulk cargoes into the Humber ports, the development of wind energy in the area has no doubt influenced the strategy of the company.

HULL & SIEMENS

As Hull embarks on the Siemens development and with the Humber region looking to become the UK’s leading renewable facility, DAN Shipping has vast experience in these ports.

LEADING PORT AGENCY

As one of the UK’s leading port agencies, DAN Shipping is innovative in the way it seeks to reduce unnecessary additional port charges for its customers whilst ensuring the safe arrival and departure of bulk cargo vessels at a range of ports including Hull, Immingham, Tyne, Tees, Sunderland, Blyth, Hunterston and Ayr.

NEW DIRECTION FOR YORKSHIRE SHIPPING AND LOGISTICS BUSINESS

The future looks bright for Derwent Shipping & Logistics as the East Yorkshire business appoints two new directors to drive the renewables division of its freight forwarding business.

The business was established by Gary and Liz Boden five years ago and in addition to its global freight business specialises in abnormal loads both home and abroad.

NEW RECRUITS

Julian and Sarah Frazier recently joined the board of directors with Julian bringing with him fourteen years as Director of Portastor, a modular building manufacturer supplying the energy sectors. He has extensive experience in large offshore wind power farms including London Array and Ormonde, in addition to many onshore farms.
