Issue 160 Issue 160 October 2014
October 2014
iya Norwich! Tis September we have mostly watched videos of people we sort of know throwing water over their own heads in their slightly skanky back gardens whilst
yelling obscenities at an old woman removing a man’s ‘ice cream’ from a freezer. Plus, Scotland decided to stick around a bit longer and give things us another shot. All I know about that situation is I’ve been missing Urusei Yatsura since 2001.
Norwich stands steady as ever amidst the madness, gearing up for a brilliant new month of music and movies and munchies and discovering new stuff. And that’s where we can help. We may not wear a gold plated babygro (well, not as often as we’d like) or have a truly glowing ginger beard, but we can tell you where the hell you should be shuffling your bad self along to this October.
Clean out all of your ears as Norwich Sound and Vision returns, with some great new and established bands playing ...Te Wytches, Chase & Status, Wiley, Childhood and Te Hold Steady play amongst many other bands. Plus, there’s roughly a bajillion other great gigs happening in the city too, including metal princes Asking Alexandria. We also chatted to comedians Cardinal Burns, and if you’re fond of a wee dram you’ll want to discover all about Norwich Cocktail Week and the annual Norwich Beer Festival, both of which happen this month.
Te pleasure, the privilege is ours, to bring you all this every month, for free.
WHAT, FREE? I know, right?
So simmer down and pucker up, Norwich. Together we can recover from Mary Berry’s Normski bomber jacket and prepare ourselves for the massive snog infused with Essence of Fun that is this month’s Outline.
We’re the cherry on the top of your ice cream. 12 ASKING ALEXANDRIA
