Fant governor steps down
THE chairman of governors at a pre-school in Fant has stood down – the second chairman and fourth trustee to depart since Ofsted rated Cobnuts Steiner Kinder- garten inadequate in February. Mr Lloyd Porter says he resigned
from Cobnuts, in Gatland Lane, be- cause “nobody appeared to take a blind bit of notice of my advice as chairman”. He says his mission “to move Cobnuts forward” and to address the observations made by Ofsted failed to win support. Manager Joanna Hammond did

The kindergarden was given an extensive list of action points re- quiring improvement in key areas including behaviour, safety and de- velopment, monitoring, manage- ment and administration.

and management degree at The University of Kent and been awarded the title of Miss Kent. Chloé, who attended Cornwallis Academy,
lives in Downswood, but her grandmother DaisyWare and aunt and uncle Van and Chrissie Williams all live in Staplehurst. She now goes forward toMiss Great Britain
in Leicester in November. She said: “I feel I'm lucky to have the opportunity to represent Kent. This will be a unique experience forme,my family and friends.” Mike Butler, managing director of Allied
Fabrications Ltd of Rochester, has agreed to sponsor Chloé.
Wills to help fund hospice
GULLANDS Solicitors is teaming up with the Heart of Kent Hospice in an offer to write 30 wills for half the normal price in return for a donation to the hospice. The wills cost £75 plus VAT (nor-
mally £150 plus VAT) for a single will or £125 plus VAT (normally £250 plus VAT) for a husband and wife or partner and partner wills. This offer applies only to wills
made in September and is on a first-come first-served basis.
Although there is no obligation
