Proudest professional career moment: “Winning the 2013 IASCA expert two-seat triple crown. Tis award was for installation and sound quality with RTA/SPL. Tis means you have to be the best at everything to win.” Biggest mistake ever made as an installer: “Te biggest mistake I’ve ever made as an installer is in the past I thought I knew it all and stopped going to trainings for a few years on new products. Te learning curve was steep when I needed to catch up.”
Tree biggest loves, other than installation: “I love spending time with my family, going to car audio competitions around the country and boating. Being with my son on the boat for the day takes all of my stress away!”
Shaughnessy Murley Visions Electronics Red Deer, Alberta
Years as an installer: 22
Non-installation related duties: “12- volt Installation Manager, responsible for hiring, training, payroll, inventory control of install parts (kits, harness materials,
etc.), and driving bay profitability. Dealer Services, responsible for implementing company dealership program for Red Deer, including installing, keeping dealers up to date, and invoicing.”
Proudest professional career moment: “Achieving MECP Master certification.”
Biggest mistake ever made as an installer: “I’ve made some rookie mistakes early on but I think the biggest one happened after a couple weeks of long work days when picking up a car from a dealership to do some work. I failed to check both ways when pulling onto the road and drove into the back tire of a truck. Te car had 7 kilometers on it.” Tree biggest loves, other than installation: “I am a car guy, and that extends into my love of classic cars. I have a 1972 Cutlass Supreme that takes up a bit of my time. As well, I enjoy cooking a lot. Sometimes it’s a great way to unwind after a hard day at work. I also love autocross racing. A bit of an adrenaline rush every few weekends is good, right?”

Biggest influence in terms of expertise, professionalism and work ethic: “My biggest influence in this business for sure has to be my original employer, who went on to be my business partner. Trough him I learned the audio aspect of the job (he was an acoustical engineer). He also taught me the dangers of complacency, and that I should always try new things.” Vision for life in five years: “My five-year plan isn’t too exciting. I would like to continuously improve my skill and help others where I can. I have no plans to leave the bay in the foreseeable future.”
Biggest influence in terms of expertise, professionalism and work ethic: “Of the many influences in my life, first and foremost are my parents for giving me the drive to always work hard and do better. As for expertise, early on it was Eric Stevens who taught me so much about how sound works in a vehicle and David Fishman Rivera who I can never go a day being around without picking’ up some trick or idea.” Vision for life in five years: “I’d start with my family being healthy and happy. I would use my win in the IOTY award to give me the opportunity to collaborate with other installers and build even more great projects. Winning the lottery wouldn’t be bad either!”
