news 7 New sponsors announced
A new team of sponsors has lined up to boost the Solent 250 in 2014 – as growth returns to the south coast business landscape.
The Solent 250, produced annually by The Business Magazine, is supported for 2014/15 by HSBC, leading law firm Blake Morgan, and business advisers Grant Thornton.
For HSBC, which sees its support of the Solent 250 alongside its sponsorship of the sister Thames Valley 250, the partnership is part of its ongoing commitment to growing businesses across the region.
Mark Frettingham, head of corporate banking for HSBC’s southern corporate banking centre, said: “I am delighted that I, and my colleague Gary Rothery in the commercial team, will be supporting the Solent 250 initiative. The Bank is fully committed to helping the Solent region’s many successful businesses grow and prosper, and we already have strong relationships with a number of Solent 250 companies.“
Blake Morgan, which was created through Blake Lapthorn’s merger with Morgan Cole, has a major south coast presence, with offices at Eastleigh and Portsmouth.
Martin Hirst, regional senior partner for the south coast, said: “The firm is excited at the prospect of working on the Solent 250 campaign, and about partnering The Business Magazine, HSBC and Grant Thornton in this initiative. As one of the best-established law firms in the south, also with offices across the Thames Valley, London and South Wales, we are well placed to offer Solent 250 companies the legal expertise they need as they grow.“
Grant Thornton, long-time supporter of the Solent 250, is once again delighted to be involved in the campaign for the year ahead. Partner Norman Armstrong said: “Many of the companies that make up the Solent 250 are the mid-sized businesses that we have identified as being the UK’s special agents of growth. They are leading the charge as the economy improves, increasing their turnover and productivity per employee, and we are there to support them.“
*Lines are open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Communications may be monitored for security and service improvement purposes.
