Southampton director earns top award
A Southampton businesswoman has been named Global Director of the Year in the Institute of Directors London and the South Director of the Year Awards
Jan Ward, CEO, Corrotherm International, picked up her accolade at a gala dinner in London last month.
She was one of a number of leading businesspeople from across the south to be honoured in the awards, which are run by the Institute of Directors (IoD) and supported by headline sponsor PwC LLP.
This year’s competition attracted the highest ever number of nominations.
The winners were:
Director of the Year (large company) • Clive Lucking, CEO, Fourfront Group, Egham, Surrey
Director of the Year (medium company) • David Byk, CEO, Swan Mill, Swanley, Kent
Director of the Year (small company)
• Mark Whiteley, consultant surgeon and clinic director, The Whiteley Clinic, Guildford, Surrey
Young Directors of the Year
• Ross Williams, CEO, Global Personals, Windsor, Berks
• Amit Bhatia, chairman, Hope Construction Materials, London

All the winners go on to the shortlist for the UK Director of the Year Awards to be presented in the autumn.
