We all know that Downtown San Diego provides some of the finest dining Southern California has to offer and it’s all set against the stunning backdrop that is the historic core of the city. It’s a self-guided culinary festival, with a veritable smorgasbord of diverse cuisines. Taste of Gaslamp will offer delicious morsels from more than 30 Gaslamp Quarter restau- rants, all representative of their house specialties. For those who are over 21, the invitation is also open to the stunning Samuel Adams beer gardens, perched atop the Altitude Sky Lounge located in the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, 660 K Street. Begin by turning in your
pre-printed paper tickets purchased online for walk-
ing maps and a sample ticket at the check-in booth at Latitude Lounge on the ground floor of the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter. There you will receive your official Taste of Gaslamp wristband and numbered ticket, complimentary recipe/offer book and event map. Tasters can then visit participating restaurants in any order they like, up to 30 locations. Good luck getting to them all!
A FEW TIPS FOR FIRST-TIMERS: Print and bring your electronic ticket. The con-
firmation email is not your ticket; make sure to print out each eticket once you have purchased them at
gaslamp.org. ALL OF THEM. Wear comfortable shoes. Leave the stilettos at

home, you will be covering a lot of ground, it’s a 16 block area (just think of it as calories burned equal to all the more you can eat). You don’t want blisters on your blisters. Wear comfortable clothes. We think you can fig-
ure out this one for yourself. Elastic is good, but please dear lord, no “visible” spandex. Let your stomach be the only bulge! You might consider a nice wrap for the afternoon; it can get a little chilly at times. Start at the north end of the Gaslamp. Most tast-
ers begin at the south end and it can create long lines, so get ahead of the game and head north. Besides the shorter lines, you will end back up at the Sam Adams Beer Garden, so what could be better? Don’t be afraid to try something new. As they say

We recommend that you come early because the event tends to attract a substantial crowd and we all know what happens when a large crowd of hungry people congregates. This event is a fundraiser to benefit the Gaslamp
Quarter Association, the non-profit merchants as- sociation of the Gaslamp Quarter. Proceeds are used to enhance and protect this historic district.
