The judges once more thanked EGi for helping in the selection by providing information on the most active firms in the area during the qualifying period.
Like the previous award, this was another enviable Thames Valley professional ‘title’ to win, as evidenced by active murmuring in the room. Or was it that Jeremy Vine had announced this Commercial Property Consultancy of the Year Award as the final award to be presented before the main course was served?
Either way, there were again three finalists: JLL, Lambert Smith Hampton, and Wadham & Isherwood.
JLL, formerly Jones Lang LaSalle, was very active in the region last year and is forecasting strong rental growth in the offices market in 2014 through the Thames Valley ‘western corridor’, particularly in Bracknell and Slough. A highlight of 2013 was advising SEGRO on the £245 million sale of IQ Winnersh, the biggest transaction of last year.
As we had already heard, Lambert Smith Hampton enjoyed a highly successful 2013 across all its Thames Valley offices. It fully expects 2014 to be even better, with its recent report on office market activity showing the Thames Valley to be one of the main beneficiaries of UK growth this

year. LSH is consistently rated as the top agency in the south east, with a footprint throughout the region.
Wadham & Isherwood had an excellent 2013. It is a 25-year-old regional firm, covering the south east with offices in Farnham, Guildford, Woking and the M3 corridor. An EGi Dealwinner for Surrey over the past two years, the firm’s experienced office agency has enjoyed success, among others, at Cody Technology Park in Farnborough, Rivercourt in Godalming, Farnham and Bordon trading estates. While having all-round property sector expertise, the firm has a strong development and investment team currently providing advice to a number of firms and large property companies throughout the UK.
This award was sponsored by SEGRO, so Paul Lewis, regional director for the Thames Valley, announced the winner. The audience hushed (it was an envied title after all) as he opened the envelope to reveal the name: Lambert Smith Hampton.
Award recipient Richard Duncan, a senior surveyor for LSH in Maidenhead, one of its four offices in the region, told Jeremy Vine that the win had come on the back of “hard work, dedication and the pride of working in the Thames Valley.”

Later he added: “This award means a great deal. We work very hard in this important area and aim to be at the top of our game, offering a very good service throughout the Thames Valley.”
Underlining the LSH achievement, Duncan commented: “The Thames Valley is very fortunate to have so many professional agencies and practices that are very good at their jobs.” Apart from hard work and client-focus, he felt LSH benefited from having a wealth of experienced consultants “on the ground” in the Thames Valley – professionals who enjoyed working for the company in such a dynamic area.
