tion? On a Tuesday night in a bar that didn't like me? I stood there as the audience cheered for me to keep playing, all on their feet, and my heart swelled, tears came to my eyes, and I put my guitar back on and sang another song, then another. Then I ended the night, again, to a standing ovation that lasted what seemed like five minutes. Let's just say, the bar, kinda liked me then. (Laughs) After that show, I had so many people tell

me how good of an entertainer I am, that my voice was solid and powerful, and that there was magic in that room that night. That may very well be the most memorable

moment in my career, but I also could tell you story after story of people who share their sto- ries with me and how my songs have helped them through tough times in their lives. Some of those stories have directly affected my life and how I live it. Each and every time some- one comes to me with their stories, it is an honor for me to hear them. I wanted to play music because I was connected to it, so to know that there are people out there who are connected to my music, is the greatest gift of all and better than any Grammy nomination or award I could ever receive.

That is an incredible story. We ask for answers and we get them, don’t we? So what's next? That is the question that I am asking myself these days. As I sit here, at the beginning of a new year, I can't really give you a good an- swer. I think this year is going to be the year that I figure out what's next. I am a creative soul... so I want to figure out how to create... more.

Okay.... if a movie was made about your life, what would the title be? A movie title is easy: Three Chords And The Truth. •
