started making necklaces, and they started selling like crazy. Then I added bracelets, and those sold as quick as the necklaces. I got more and more creative on how I was making the jewelry, making each one different. It got to a point where I could barely keep the stock up for the tours I was on. I'd spend a week of working day and night on making this stuff for the tour and I'd sell almost all of it by the tours end. Since people want to download Cd's, I had to figure out what to sell that they couldn't download. I also sell a lot of jewelry to people who have no interest in my music, which has been a huge blessing. After the jewelry took off, I started think-
ing about doing some paintings that are basi- cally the same as my necklaces, only bigger and you hang them on your wall instead of your neck. (Laughs) I had taken some time off from touring and was bored, so I went to the store and bought ten canvasses. I had a lot of fun making these art pieces, very mixed media, very... "chaos on canvass"... kind of the way I roll I guess. And sure enough, they sold. And that's how I became an "artist." Beats
me why people like this stuff... I guess there's a lot of people like myself and I'm not as unique as I thought I was! (Laughs) We al- ways want to think we're different, or unique, but in reality, we're all pretty much the same. People identify with my art, whether it's music, jewelry, or my wall art. It's an awe- some connection that I have with the hearts of people. I mean, that's what we're all look- ing for - to connect.
Is that your artwork on one of your CD covers? Where else can we see your paintings and jewelry? So funny! That art on the Cd A Little Bit Of You actually is not mine! That was before I really got into doing art. I found that picture online somewhere and paid useage rights for
it. A lot of people think I did that, but I didn't. I may have contributed to that misinforma- tion because it does say in the credits that I did the cd artwork, but I was referring to the packaging. I designed the packaging, I didn't actually draw that awesome tree. I wish I had.
Unfortunately and fortunately, finding my art has been tough. You pretty much have to come to my shows to see / buy it. Because I do everything in my career by myself, I can't keep up with the online store. Everything is one of a kind, which means if I put it up on- line and then I sell it, (at a show or online), I then have to immediately take it down from the site host and often times, that's just not possible. Then I'm selling multiples of the 'one' that I have and end up having to refund money, or attempt to recreate it for the orders that come in. I sell so many of these at shows, that keeping up with the inventory is just too hard. So, it's always first come first serve. I will, however, sometimes do these sales on facebook where I post pictures of the art / jewelry and then sell it to the first person who wants it. It's super fun actually, creates kind of a frenzy because people know there's only one so they gotta move quick if they want it. I have fun doing it that way. My wall art pieces I have been able to put up online, and sell that way, or at shows. Because those take longer to do, I don't have as many in stock and it's easier to keep up with. I am working on more and more art pieces these days, and I'm touring less, so I will be working on ways to sell my pieces online. You can always email me, or message me through facebook about orders.
