Guest speaker Professor Sanford Levinson of University of Texas School of Law will present arguments for a new Constitutional Convention in the United States and challenge the idea that fundamental governmental principles should re- main static over time. A leading critic of the U.S. Constitution and excessive presidential power, Professor Levinson will draw from the extensive research behind his recent book, Our Undemo- cratic Constitution: Where the Constitution Goes Wrong (and How We the People Can Correct It).


International Law Society had the honor of host- ing Diplomat John C. Roberts at the LSU Law Center. Mr. Roberts talked about his experience


with the foreign service and gave a wonderful presentation to students about career opportuni- ties with the Foreign Service and State Depart- ment.


Mr. Roberts past career experiences are honor- able and impressive, here is just a brief snap shot from his biography:


John C. Roberts is a career member of the U.S.


Department of State’s Foreign Service currently serving as Diplomat in Residence for Southeast Texas and Louisiana. Prior to his assignment as Diplomat in Residence he served as Director of the Civilian Response Corps in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations (CSO). CSO leads the Department of State’s expeditionary diplomatic efforts providing whole of government
