FOSTERING AN ABANDONED DOG Is it for you? Read on & fi nd out more
P.E.P.A. the helping hands charity for animals seeking people who may enjoy caring for a dog or puppy for a short while. Could you be one of those people? Here’s a few questions to help you decide!
How long do I keep the dog or puppy?
ge 14
It depends on the time it takes to fi nd a new home. It could be weeks or a few months. Everything would be done to fi nd a home as quickly as possible by advertising on our website and in the press.
Supposing I need to go away? We call on another foster carer, or pay to place the dog in kennels until you return.
Will I have to pay for food and vet bills?
P.E.P.A. pays for medical costs and food if required. It would be treated for parasites, vaccinated and in some cases sterilized. We may ask the foster carer to take them to the vet, but costs are met by P.E.P.A.
I don't have a garden?
We do our best to ensure the dog or puppy would fi t into your home/lifestyle. We can provide a bed, dog bowls etc.
