ARLINGTON/FORT CAROLINE This thriving residential and commercial area of


Jacksonville is bordered by the St. Johns River to the west and north, the Intracoastal Waterway to the east and Atlantic Boulevard to the south. Residential options include single-and multi-family developments, condominiums, townhomes, waterfront properties and golf communities. Arlington-Fort Caroline residents have the advantage of close proximity to other major areas of Jacksonville; the beaches, Southside, Northside and Downtown are all easily accessible. The community is home to the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve and the Fort Caroline National Memorial, as well as Jones College and Jacksonville University.


BEACHES/INTRACOASTAL The Beaches area is comprised of Jacksonville Beach,


Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Mayport. These seaside municipalities offer an assortment of residential areas with a laid-back atmosphere. Jacksonville Beach, the oldest of the three, is also the only city that allows the construction of high- rise buildings. With numerous clubs, bars and restaurants, Jacksonville Beach also offers some of the best nightlife and entertainment in the area. Neptune Beach, the youngest and smallest of the beach communities, encompasses 2.5 square miles between Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach. Through strict growth management benchmarks, Neptune Beach maintains a tranquil standard of living for its residents. The heart of Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach is the Beaches Town Center, which offers residents of both cities a variety of shopping and dining options. Atlantic Beach is mostly residential, with the majority of the developed areas being single-family homes. For non-coastline residents, there are 14 different access points along Atlantic Beach’s two miles of oceanfront.
