ECITB LAUNCHES A NEW APP

The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) has launched a brand new educational App.

The App is a tool to inform young people about the industry in an educational but fun way. It was piloted at last year’s Big Bang event and it had a great response.

The App is free to download from iTunes and comprises four mini games each representing a key sector of the engineering construction industry. It is an educational and challenging app suitable for all ages, users can have a go at; oil & gas ‘pipefitting’, nuclear

‘decommissioning,’

renewable energy ‘powering the grid’ and engineering construction

‘steel infrastructure.’

The engineering construction industry is one of the fastest growing industries and is at the heart of the UK’s energy revolution. There are boundless career opportunities in this prospering industry which includes

exciting processing

and power generating sectors, such as Nuclear, Renewables, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Oil & Gas and many more that facilitate modern living.

The ECITB has statutory responsibility

for the training of the UK’s engineering workforce and

development of

qualifications. It invests £10m annually to support 2200 apprentices in the UK to develop those valuable skills needed to drive the economy.

Over the next four years the organisation will invest at least £100m into the delivery of apprenticeships, training programmes and the development of qualifications for the industry.
