s always, I find it very easy to change. And, be it the new year, here we
go! I love the freedom to have a little fun and dream a bit. The cover, as you
can see
is slightly dif- ferent form the past many months.
Outside,
right on the front entrance to my house nestled in the corner
is a
small green worm that has attached itself with a silk-like cocoon after enduring weeks of frigid weather. Before there was even a cocoon it was attached with its hind legs in the same spot for at least eight days. To check to see if it was still
alive, I lightly touched
its back and it would slowly move. It turns out my daugh- ter would do the same each day when returning home from school, checking in on its status. She told me she even put a small leaf for it to eat. It must be hungry for sure she had thought. Why it chose this particular spot is a mystery, since small birds are often seen around

my house picking off spiders under the porch and along the fences. Most definitely, this little larva is turning into something new...a
major
change of sorts. So I reflected and decided to change the paper too! A Good Thing!
The winter- time is great for me to generate new ideas
for
the paper and expanding its ever-growing popularity. I had
a lady call me from Santa Rosa requesting a subscrip- tion for her daughter-in-law who lives in New York, saying how much she could use the good news. Barry and Jackie Duncan are enjoying an upbeat time aboard the Carribean Princess on their Thanksgiving cruise to the Carribean. They enjoyed time away before the start of the shipping season in their very busy location of The UPS Store in the G & G Shopping Center.
Upbeat in The Carribean! Interesting Facts about the Carribean:
The Caribbean is a region that consists of the Caribbean Sea, its islands (some surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and some border- ing both the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean), and the surrounding coasts. The region is southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the North American mainland, east of Central America, and north of South America. Situated largely on the Caribbean
Plate, the region comprises more than 700 islands, islets, reefs, and cays. These islands generally form island arcs that delineate the eastern and northern edges of the Caribbean Sea. The Caribbean islands, con- sisting of the Greater Antilles on the north and the Lesser Antilles on the south and east (including the Leeward Antilles), are part of the somewhat larger West Indies grouping, which also includes the

Lucayan Archipelago (compris- ing the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands) north of the Greater Antilles and Caribbean Sea. In a wider sense, the mainland countries of Belize, Guyana, and Suriname – may be included. The region takes its name from that of the Carib, an ethnic group present in the Lesser Antilles and parts of adjacent South America at the time of the Spanish conquest.
