GLEN ELLEN, CA. ~ So you go that perfect gift for the holidays? The one that is so precious you won’t let anyone else touch it, let alone use it or take it out of your sight? Fearing that they might drop it, scratch it or find some unknown way of damaging your perfect new baby. I want to talk a little bit in the new year about protecting your elec- tronics from different types of damage. Many of the things I am going to cover also make great last minute
or late gifts if you know someone with a new gad- get! When you get a new electronic device be it a lap- top, phone, tablet or iPod one of the first things many people buy next is a case to put it in. Which one do you choose, there
are literally thousands of options for protective cases now. They range is quality and protections form most- ly artistic thin plastic back- ings that don’t protect your device well to 3 layered waterproof and dust proof heavy “defender” cases. With prices anywhere form 99 Cents to $129 it can be hard to know what would do the best job for the price. For
phones and similar
small devices I personally prefer a thin two layer case
with both hard plastic and a softer silicone or rubber layer. I find it offers maxi- mum protection while not making my phone too large and bulky.
I recommend
OtterBox products I have been using them since they first came out with a prod- uct for the iPod about 8 years ago. They make great cases and have a great has- sle free warranty program I have always been impressed with with their products and use their commuter case on all my devices. Look for their cases at popular online retailers for great prices. I prefer a softer case for an iPad or tablet
something
leather or fabric is nice, their are lots of available options some even have built

instead of having a large bulky laptop bag. My favor- ite laptop bags are made form a Neoprene Plastic, Neoprene is a synthetic rub- ber that is often used in wet suits, it is a very resistant material and excellent for protecting your computer or device, there are dozens to choose from. It shouldn't be a problem to find something that fits your needs! One more thing to think about is getting your devices insured from accidental damage or theft. These are known as personal articles policies and are often surprisingly affordable, if you already deal with an insurance agent for home/rental/auto or life insurance they can help you find the right policy. I insure my Camera, Laptop and smart phone, it helps keep me in an upbeat mood!

Weird Facts & Trivia - 5
There are only 100 shares in Ty Incorporated, a private company based in Westmont, Illinois and Ty Warner owns them all. That makes him an extremely rich man. How rich? No one really knows, but some estimates say he could be worth $6 billion. Ty's Beanie Baby empire is now bigger than the conventional toy giants Hasbro and Mattel combined. And that's official.
Ty Warner is a generous philanthropist, with donations of $6 million to the Andre Agassi Foundation for underprivileged children in Las Vegas and $3 million for the creation of Ty Warner Park, $8M for the Ty Warner Sea Park in California and the gift of 10000 Beanie Babies for children in Iraq.
successful inventions came in 1878, when he created the first nutcracker and nutpick. In 1913, he patented the spring-jointed nutcracker, a nickel-plated, solid steel nutcracker with four picks. Nearly 200 million of these nutcrackers have been sold worldwide since then.
