ENGINEERING STUDENTS SHOW OFF (THEIR ARTISTIC SKILLS)
Twelve Aerosystems Engineer students from Course 31 at RAF Cosford volunteered to take days out of their block leave period to help decorate the children’s play area in the Community Centre.
A
s part of their course the students on the Engineer Officer Foundation Training (EOFT) within
the Aerosystems Engineer and Management Training School at RAF Cosford are tasked with taking on an appropriate community or charity event as part of their training.
The project to help decorate the planned children’s area and craft shop was an ideal
opportunity for members of the course to show off their artistic skills whilst creating an exciting and welcoming area for children to play and learn in.
There are plans to turn a large space in the Community Centre at RAF Cosford into a Community Hub. This bright and inviting meeting place will house a craft shop and meeting area appropriately furnished for where courses, community events, projects and activities can take place.
The main aim of developing a Community Hub is to further strengthen the community, increase participation and promote social inclusion through the stimulation and support of community groups, community activity along with welfare and advice services.
