Nixon Mc- Millan, rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Albany, entertained from the console of the mighty Wurlitzer (“Goldie”), both with his playing and his humorous re- marks. “Goldie” is a three- manual, 18-rank organ that includes a full set of percus- sion instruments and a grand piano that can be played from the organ console, and the Rev. McMillan made good use of the organ’smany “bells and whistles.” He also ac- companied violinist Hannah Mudge and soprano Susan Harwood in several numbers. After the concert, AGO and ATOS members walked to Aperitivo Bistro for lunch. The event concluded with the annual meeting, led by Dean John Schreiner. —Edee Silva

Oneonta, N.Y. April 20, a members’ repertoire work- shop was hosted by Dean John Jurgensen at the First United Methodist Church, with organists from both the Oneonta and Binghamton chapters presenting. The pro- gram was opened by Anne Franco, retired professor at Concordia College, Bronx- ville, N.Y, who presented the music of Clérambault and discussed the French Baroque period. Lee Roseboom and Richard Sheasley, members of the Binghamton Chapter, played music of Brahms, Bach, Near, Walther, Pachel- bel, and Guilmant. They dis- cussed music appropriate for the seasons of the church year as well as their personal practice techniques for learn- ing new music and the im- portance of knowing the background of their reper- toire. Headlee, pro- fessor emeritus of organ at Syracuse University, played a recital at the Church of the Saviour celebrating both the 50th anniversary of the church’s Möller organ and the work of Ernest White, who designed and finished the instrument. April 21, the chapter presented a screening of the silent film Metropolis, accompanied by Boston organist Peter Krasin- ski, at National City Christian Church (CharlesMiller, host). The event drew a large atten- dance of local cinema fans in addition to organists andmu- sic students of all ages. —Russell Weismann


Central Maryland. May 13, the chapter’s year-end ban- quet was held at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant in Fred- erick. Following the Wel- come and Invocation, Dean Truuke Ameigh presented a retrospective of chapter events and accomplishments during the past year. Guest speaker Glenn Rodgers, councillor for Region III, provided national AGO news and installed chapter officers for 2013–14: Jody Brumage, Michele Kim- mel, Miriam Meglan, Truuke Ameigh, John Widmann, Ju- lia Parker, Dottie Winter, Jes- sica Bobb, Bonnie Frederick, andBobby Staples. The chap- ter’s contribution to the AGO Annual Fund was presented to Rodgers by Dean Ameigh. —MicheleKimmel


Potomac, Md. May 13, chap- ter members met at St. An- drew’s Episcopal Church of College Park (Dale Krider, host) for a catered dinner and program. Following dinner and a brief business meeting, Sub-dean Emily Koons intro- duced John Walker, national AGO vice president, whose talk “A Funny Thing Hap- pened at Church” was fol- lowed by a recital. The open- ing work was Trilogie by Denis Bédard (Edition Chel- dar), an organ duet played by Walker and Krider. Walker then performed Adagio in E Minor by Herbert Nanney (Walker’s former teacher) and
