Felipe Navio, 29 Co-founder of jobandtalent www.jobandtalent.com @joandtalentuk

1. Tell us about your company.

jobandtalent is a recruitment platform which matches jobs to candidates through an innovative linguistics-based algorithm. More than half of professionals still miss great career opportunities because they don’t have the time to browse daily among the millions of jobs posted on different job boards. We are using our unique technology to solve this problem

2. How did your entrepreneurial journey begin?

It began four years ago after many conversations with Juan Urdiales (co-founder of jobandtalent). I was going to do an MBA but decided I didn’t want to follow that path as I wanted to help solve some of the pains in the recruitment industry. Juan had a similar idea, so we launched the company together after that.

3. Where do you see the company in five years? We want to expand jobandtalent globally. I see jobandtalent as one of the main players in the recruitment space, and our metrics and user feedback show that we are on the right track and are solving a real problem.

4. What is the best advice you’ve been given?

I would say three things. Hire people more intelligent than you, be bold in taking risky decisions and learn from your failures fast.

Emma Watkinson, 26 Founder & CEO of SilkFred www.silkfred.com @silkfred

1. What is SilkFred?

SilkFred is the new go to e-commerce platform for the fashion brands of the future. We work with fashion brands to provide them with their own e-commerce store, allow them to sell their items through our online marketplace as well as get them stocked in independent boutiques in the fashion capitals of the world.

2. Where do you see the company in five years? I want us to be the place where fashion brands go to launch and grow their

business. My vision for SilkFred is that it sits next to opening a business bank account and registering a company at Companies House, in the mind of someone launching a new fashion label. We already work with UK fashion universities to mentor students and we would love to continue to work with fashion brands at a grass roots level. It’s important to nurture the right talent early on.

3. Who inspires you? My Dad. He’s a true entrepreneur and told me ‘Sometimes when you’re winning it can still feel like you’re losing. Get your head down, keep going and don’t forget to celebrate each win, no matter how small.’ That has always stuck with me.
