When baby comes home:

Peterborough Coping with a new baby...

Becoming parents isn’t always easy. Finding time for yourselves, changes to your sex life, juggling commitments of work and family and agreeing on how to bring up the children is challenging.

We’re here to help you if you feel you need it, here are a few tips that will help.....

• Don’t keep them to yourself. Talk to your partner and other parents - many of them are experiencing the same mixture of conflicting feelings.

• Work with and support your partner by taking turns with the baby.

• Be kind to each other, knowing that lack of sleep causes lowered tolerance and frayed tempers.

• Sleeping separately can help to keep at least one of you from falling apart, but don’t do it for too long. Sharing a bed is an important part of being a couple.
