ith obesity becoming one of the biggest concerns for the NHS, we all want to start our children off on the right path to a healthy future. Tumble Tots Peterborough are a commercial enterprise, but their heart is in exactly the right place. They want children throughout Peterborough (and the UK in general) to be bought up fit and healthy, and what better way to start them on their way than by joining Gymbabes?
Each 40-minute session stimulates and encourages babies to use all their senses, gently and without pressure. They get the chance to play, explore, crawl, walk and learn with others in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Using specialist soft equipment as well as wooden trestles, walkways, tunnels and ladders, the programme encourages different muscle groups to work in harmony, while developing those all important neural connections that make them physically and socially confident as they grow.

The 40-minute sessions start with a gentle massage to get the blood pumping and to improve their circulation ready for exercise, and then there’s a short action song to get them moving. After a good play on the equipment, constantly guided by CRB accredited and fully-trained staff, they get to chill out to another action song before getting their sticker and heading home. It’s a great opportunity for parents to spend time with their babies without outside interruptions such as the worry of housework and other chores - and there’s time to chat to other mums too.
Once the children are walking they can progress to Tumble Tots - a series of age dependent classes that increase in difficulty right the way up until the children turn seven.
Tumble Tots Peterborough run six days a week in Peterborough, Stamford and Oundle, with a full list of classes and further details to be found at
